Stone, light and a wall. This minimalist sconce sets a slab of Spanish marble against a slim copper body, so the light grazes the stone and reveals its veining rather than hiding it. Mounted beside a bed it becomes a quiet reading light; along a corridor, a rhythm of warm markers; above a desk in a study, a soft edge of light that never shouts. Every piece of marble is different, which is rather the point.

The natural stone is the shade itself, so light passes across and through its edges and the colour of the fitting shifts with the grain. The frame is copper, self-contained and wall-mounted, in a form stripped back to a single clean line. The LED light is warm white in the 2700 to 3500K range, which keeps the marble looking honest rather than clinical. Two body variants are offered, so the proportion can be matched to the wall it sits on.

It suits bedsides, hallways, studies, dining rooms and entrance halls, anywhere a table lamp would only be in the way. Installation is wall-mounted and self-contained: the fixture fastens to the wall and connects to the existing point, so it is worth having an electrician make the connection. Once up it asks for very little, with no shade to align, no cable on show and only an occasional wipe of the stone.
