Marble Oval LED Wall Sconce

The Marble Oval LED Wall Sconce is a long, slim slot of light that reads as part of the wall rather than an object hung on it. Lit, the marble glows from within and the veining shows through as a faint map; unlit, it is a pale sculptural bar. Run vertically beside a bed, up a staircase or along a hallway, it gives a room the calm, hotel-lobby quality that ceiling lights rarely manage on their own.

The body is natural stone, so the pattern differs from piece to piece. Two sizes are offered, D5 x H40 cm and D5 x H60 cm, both slim enough to sit close to the wall. Light output comes in warm white at 2700-3500 K, cool white at 5500-7000 K, or a three-colour changing version that lets you switch between them. Warm white suits bedrooms and dining rooms; cool white reads crisper in a study or a stairwell.

It works beside a bed as a pair, along a corridor at regular intervals, up a staircase wall or either side of a mirror in a dressing area. Installation is wall mounted and self-contained, so run the wiring to the fixing point first and mark heights carefully. Wipe with a dry cloth only, as marble marks easily with damp cleaners.
